Serving Washington, Idaho & British Columbia

As we enter the month or May, we want you to know how well this initiative has been received so far: To Date, we have had 29 of our Rotary, Rotaract and Interact clubs indicate their endorsement with donations received, PLUS, 21 individuals personally making a donation, many in addition t what their club has donated.

As of April 30, combining all the club and personal donations with the District repurposed grant money, we have over $19,000 in the fund...and we've still got a month to go for other clubs and members to make a donation.

Has your club made that donation yet or are they still discussing it ?
It is with great sadness that the District announces the passing of Sidney LeRoy Wade, a member of the Rotary Club of Spokane Valley Sunrise, who passed away February 28, 2021 in Spokane Valley. Sid was born on December 8, 1944 in Newton, Iowa.

For more than 40 years, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp has been an integral part of Rotary District 5080. The camp has left a lasting impact on those who have attended throughout the district and has helped develop future leaders. Like many of the clubs in our area, the Rotary Club of Columbia River Passport shares a passion for youth services and supports the service that the RYLA camp provides. That is why the Rotary Club of Columbia River Passport is offering a raffle for a seat at RYLA.
Many residents in our state do not have access to quality medical care from licensed physicians. Your help is needed to improve the availability of primary medical care in underserved communities.

As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

RI President Holger Knaack’s theme for 2020-21, Rotary Opens Opportunities, asks Rotarians to create opportunities that strengthen their leadership, help put service ideas into action, and improve the lives of those in need.

Governor`s Monthly Message
This has been a difficult time for us both and it will remain so until it is brought to a most happy conclusion with Cindy's determination to get through this. We have already received so many prayers and well wishes for her complete and quick recovery from our Rotary family, from our Club, and the District and Zones 26 and 27. It has been tremendously uplifting and especially so with a pandemic going on. Truly Rotary has shown us that it has a heart.

The next few weeks will tell us what we need to do for Cindy's return to health.  We remain steadfast in our belief that Rotary is a light for the World and for us both.

Thank you all for your thoughts and wishes.

Thank you,
Tim
