Nakusp Peacebuilder Club

The Rotary Club of Nakusp, British Columbia became a Peacebuilder Club on 11 May 2024.

The Club has a history of working for Peace in its local community and promoting the implementation of resolutions to the Rotary International Board to consider supporting the growing international call for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons by calling on the nine nuclear weapons possessing countries to negotiate an agreement to do so.

The Club is also instrumental in coordinating the District Peace Committee's Peace Literacy Project. An initiative to partner with the Peace Literacy Institute and Oregon State University to provide access for teachers to the curriculum developed by PHI on "Navigating Aggression: Its Causes, Anatomy, and Alternatives," and "Navigating Non-Physical Needs, Trauma, and the Tech Tsunami.
